| Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2008 |
While doing a bit of thrifting I came about a few pieces I wouldn't designate as vintage but others would. It seems as though the fashion society has declared a high end designer piece that was in stores a little more than a year ago a vintage piece. A Marc Jacobs dress from Spring Summer 2010 is considered to be from past season but recently I heard someone use the vintage to describe it. Not sure how the terminology vintage has become a reference to anything not as of the current date. The world of fashion can be very pretentious and downright dumb. Readers, how do you feel about this?
I always thought vintage was from an older era and not necessarily a couple seasons ago. Id say that if the article has run its course, gone out of style and then revived, its vintage. Likely 5-7 years at the very least, no?
